April 9, 2019: Anderson Breakfast Series

The 2020 census is less than a year away and experts and activists are concerned that an undercount of New York’s residents could lead to New York losing more than 1 congressional seat. This month’s installment of Albany Law School’s Anderson Breakfast series brought together experts to discuss the major implications this could have on New York’s redistricting. We made sense of the numbers with two Anderson speakers, Jeff Wice, Fellow at the Rockefeller Institute of Government, Co-Chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Redistricting and Elections Committee and a New York redistricting veteran who worked for 5 Assembly Speakers & 4 Democratic Senate leaders, as well as Dr. John Flateau, Professor and Chair of the Public Administration Department at CUNY’s Medgar Evers College, Executive Director of the Dubois Bunche Center for Public Policy, and served as 2010 Census Coordinator for the New York State Senate.
