Aug. 21, 2013: Healthcare Exchanges, judicial accountability, update on Joe Bruno

A new report from the Medicaid Institute at United Hospital Fund examines nursing home trends in New York, finding that, for much of the state, the number of short-stay patients has surpassed the number of long-stay resident, though the trend hasn’t caught on in New York City. James R. Tallon Jr., president of the United Hospital Fund of New York, joins us.

The head of the Center for Judicial Accountability will be hand-delivering a letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo today. Elena Sassower joins us to discuss what the group is looking for.

Vin Bonventre, Albany Law professor and author of the “New York Court Watcher” blog, calls the 2nd Circuit’s decision in the Joe Bruno case “shameful and ignominious.” He tells us why.
