The financial impacts to businesses of raising the minimum wage has been a recurrent criticism from opponents of an increase. A new study from the New School shows that jobs and sales in the restaurant industry grew as New York City’s minimum wage increased. James Parrott, Senior Director of Economic and Fiscal Policies at the Center for New York City Affairs at the New School, and Michael Kink, Executive Director of the Strong Economy for All Coalition, weighed in on the study’s findings.
