August 2, 2019: Lac-Megantic Rail Disaster

In 2013, 47 people were killed in the Canadian town of Lac-Mégantic near the U.S. border after a train carrying crude oil ignited. A book, The Lac-Megantic Rail Disaster: Public Betrayal, Justice Denied, is out now in paperback and takes a look at the events that led to the disaster and the impact it has had on the community. We discussed the disaster with the book’s author, Bruce Campbell, Adjunct Professor of Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto. (originally aired 4/11/19)
