TE DEUM. Three settings of the “Te Deum” will be the subject of this evening’s Choral Traditions. First, we’ll offer French composer Michel Richard Delalande’s ornate setting of the text, scored for baroque orchestra, six soloists and chorus. Following Delalande will be the “Utrecht” Te Deum of George Frederic Handel, also scored for six soloists and chorus with orchestra. Ending the broadcast is the largest of them all: the Hector Berlioz setting – complete with triple chorus, tenor solo, orchestra and organ.
