Bill and Maureen begin their season of full-length operas with an opera set in America for the Fourth of July. We’ll hear PUCCINI: La Fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West). The cast of this 1958 London/Decca recording includes Renata Tebaldi, Mario del Monaco, and Cornell MacNeil. Franco Capuana will conduct the Orchestra and Chorus of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome. This opera was donated to our library.

The Concert Hall will remember the Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival of last year as CCM gears-up for the festival that begins this year on August 2nd. This first program features The Parker String Quartet performing works by Haydn, Janacek, and Beethoven... and we will add soprano Sarah Wolfson’s lovely voice. An alternative to the rockets’ red glare, and Happy Independence Day one and all!
