WCNY is providing five channels of television programming via our digital transmitter and via cable. Below is a list of the five channels we program, and a description of what you will find on them.

WCNY 24.1- Main channel
This is channel 24.1 in our over the air digital stream and also on channel 11 and channel 850 on most Time Warner cable systems. This is our main WCNY programming with a combination of your favorite PBS programs and locally produced programs like Food for Thought, Ivory Tower Half Hour, Financial Fitness, and Central Issues. This is a standard definition program channel.

WCNY 24.2-Thinkbright/Create
This channel is found on our digital channel 24.2, and on Time Warner digital channel 851. This channel provides 24 hours of programming that splits the day between New York State programming created by the other eight PBS stations in New York State, produced in New York for the viewers in New York, and providing, the other half of the day, the best How To programming from PBS for our digital broadcast viewers.

WCNY 24.3-Cinema 24
Found on digital over the air channel 24.3, and on Time Warner digital channel 852, cinema 24 provides 24 hours of classic movies, with a different set of movies presented each night at 6pm.

WCNY 24.4-WCNY-HD
Channel 24.4 on our digital channel and on Time Warner 853 in the digital tier, this channel provides 24 hours of high definition programming from PBS and documentaries and music specials produced in high definition by WCNY.

WCNY2-“Your How To “Channel (Cable Only)
Your favorite “How-To” programming covering everything from sewing to cooking and home repair. You can only get this channel on Time Warner digital cable 854.

*Please note that as of August 3, 2010, Time Warner Cable made the decision to move WCNY2 from basic cable to their digital tier channel 854. Prior to the switch, WCNY2 was offered through cable only in Onondaga and Oswego counties and Cazenovia. The switch to digital cable 854 will add WCNY2 to the following cable systems: Auburn, Cortland, Hamilton, Rome/Oneida, Tompkins County, Utica, Boonville, Candor, Forestport, and Ilion. Time Warner Cable customers will have to have digital cable in order to receive the WCNY2 channel.
