WCNY Airs “Blue Man Group: Inside the Tube” and Offers Tickets to Live Performance
Syracuse NY : WCNY airs Blue Man Group’s first full-length television special Sunday, December 30 at 7 pm on WCNY-TV Channel 24 (Time Warner Channel 11) and rebroadcasts on Wednesday, January 2 at 8 pm and Sunday, January 6 at 4 pm. Time magazine describes a Blue Man Group show as a combination of “physical stunts, visual gags, art commentary, audience participation and all-out sensory assault”. USA Today describes it as a “silent futuristic circus”, a “high-tech mime trio”, and “an original combination of vaudeville, Dadaist art happenings, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show”. This one-hour program, originally released in 2006, was created specially for public television. It spans the entirety of the Blue Man Group’s innovative and wildly popular body of work, and takes an intimate look inside Blue Man Group’s unique creative process with never-before-revealed insights. According to Blue Man Group co-founder, Phil Stanton, “We cherish this opportunity to contribute something to a network that has contributed so much to our own creative development over the years. We are proud to become part of public television’s body of work and we have worked very hard to live up to their tradition of providing thoughtful, innovative and compelling programming.” In the spirit of “contributing”, Blue Man Group has reserved 200 prime seating tickets for their upcoming 2008 Tour coming to the Onondaga County War Memorial on Wednesday, February 27. These select tickets are being sold exclusively through WCNY, but, only until January 9. For information about ticket sales, contact Jean Moffit at 315.453.2424.
