WCNY HOSTS 25TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DEBATE

On October 22, 2008, WCNY hosted a debate among candidates for the 25th Congressional District at its studios in Liverpool. Candidates Howie Hawkins (G), Daniel Maffei (D) and Dale Sweetland (R) participated. The 60-minute live debate was moderated by Emmy award-winning journalist Matt Mulcahy, anchor of Action News 3 on WSTM-TV. Carlet Cleare, the public affairs producer at WXXI in Rochester, co-hosted the debates from the WXXI studios. Questions were posed by a panel of journalists as well as by studio audiences at both WCNY and WXXI. The debate was simulcast on WXXI-TV, WXXI-AM, WSTM-TV and WRVO-FM.
