Two Central New York academic teams square off each episode to test their knowledge of science, math, literature, history, current events and more. Points are given for correct answers and in the “Double Down” rounds points are taken away for wrong answers. I f you think you know the answers to questions like: “Who is Hester Prynne’s husband in The Scarlet Letter” or “Which planet has a thick cloud cover of carbon dioxide with a surface temperature of approximately 867 degrees Fahrenheit”, you’ll probably want to tune in to WCNY’s action-packed high school academic competition, Double Down. Host Bill Baker
Bill is the midday host of Classic Choices on our sister station, WCNY-FM. Bill majored in French, which he taught for 11 years, before turning to broadcasting. His natural curiosity and easy way with the students make him a nice fit for Double Down.
