Host Kendall Phillips.Kendall Phillips is chair and associate professor in the Department of Communication and rhetorical studies at Syracuse University. He has published numerous books including, Projected Fears: Horror Films and American Culture, Framing Public Memory, and the forthcoming, Controversial Cinema: The Films that Outraged America. Born and raised in Texas, Kendall received his Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. After receiving his doctorate, Kendall taught for a period at the University of Central Missouri and for a brief time in the United Kingdom at the University of Glamorgan before coming to SU. His essays have appeared in such journals as Literature/Film Quarterly, Communication Monographs and Philosophy and Rhetoric and he teaches courses in the rhetoric of film, popular culture, and aspects of public remembrance. Phillips lives in Syracuse with his wife, Catherine, and their soft-coated wheaten terrier, Blix.
