May 7, 2015: Michael Gormley, Chancellor Merryl Tisch, Dr. Rick Timbs, Mike Panessa
May 7, 2015
Newsday reporter Michael Gormley joins Susan Arbetter for analysis of yesterday’s testy Senate proceedings. The Senate Democrats, the minority party, attempted to introduce a motion to dismiss the Senate rules in order to hold a no-confidence vote in the recently arrested Sen. Dean Skelos, the Temporary President of the Senate and Majority Leader. The proceedings grew heated, though the motion was ultimately not brought to the floor.
Today, May 7, is the Regents’ Learning Summit on the Annual Professional Performance Review. We will speak with Regents Chancellor Merryl Tisch and then Dr. Rick Timbs, the Statewide School Finance Consortium’s Executive Director, about the summit and the ongoing changes to education in NYS.
Also, Mike Panessa, a parent of school children and the owner of Blue Mongoose Web Development, will explain a call for the Attorney General to investigate the Common Core aligned tests.◄ Back to PodCasts
