June 16, 2015: Carol Burris and Tim Farley, Sen. Carlucci, Asw. Catherine Nolan, Susan Lerner

As it meets today, the Board of Regents is making amendments to the plan to roll out new teacher evaluations. Many educators and advocates are still outraged, though, because they say the proposed changes do not fix any core problems. Today, Susan Arbetter speaks with Carol Burris, Principal of South Side High School in Rockville Centre, and Tim Farley, a building principal in the Hudson Valley, about what they are hearing from teachers, parents, and administrators.

Sen. David Carlucci (IDC – Ossining) explains his revised legislation for state fiscal oversight of the East Ramapo CSD.

The Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, Catherine Nolan (D – Ridgewood), looks at end-of-session education issues like the Education Investment Tax Credit, East Ramapo oversight, and teacher evaluations.

We explain a Common Cause report that analyzes how political money is spent on issues tied to education policy with Susan Lerner, Common Cause’s executive director.
