July 9, 2015: Tom Wilber, Lisa Frisch, medical aid in dying
July 9, 2015
Today, Susan Arbetter speaks with Tom Wilber, a Gannett reporter and author of Under the Surface: Fracking Fortunes and the Fate of the Marcellus Shale, about the geology of Seneca Lake and the safety and environmental concerns over storing liquid petroleum gas in one of New York’s finest wine tourism havens.
The Legal Project is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Lisa Frisch, the not-for-profit’s executive director, explains the group’s plans to provide legal assistance for under-served populations-like rural residents or those with disabilities-through technology.
Finally, we hear from two advocates working with Compassion and Choices on a bill in New York that would legalize medical aid in dying for mentally competent, terminally ill patients. Our guests are Mark Dann, the NY Campaign Director with Compassion and Choices, and Amanda Avery, a “right to die” proponent who lost her partner Chrissy to cancer earlier this year.◄ Back to PodCasts
