Last Monday the DEC announced it would hold an issues conference regarding Houston-based Crestwood’s plan to store propane and butane gas in salt caverns on the banks of Seneca Lake. That decision prompted Arlington Storage, a division of Crestwood, to request from FERC clearance to begin construction today. The move has sparked outrage among some Finger Lakes residents opposed to the storage plan. We will speak with Joseph Campbell of Gas Free Seneca and Ithaca College’s Scholar in Residence, author & anti-fracking activist Dr. Sandra Steingraber about the issue and the rally being planned for today.
Two Democrats are running for the seat occupied by long time Saratoga/Schenectady-area lawmaker, Republican State Senator Hugh Farley.
