Sept. 1, 2014: Education roundtable, Howie Hawkins, Prof. Richard McGowan
September 1, 2014
What does the education landscape look like for 2014-15? We’ll find out with a panel of education stakeholders, who will explore funding, teacher tenure, and the changing standards in New York. Our panel features Dr. Rick Timbs of the Statewide School Finance Consortium; Tim Kremer of the New York State School Boards Association; Port Byron Schools Superintendent Neil O’Brien; and Superintendent Tolga Hayali of the Syracuse and Utica Academies of Science Charter Schools.
Green Party candidate for Governor Howie Hawkins has a long history with both the labor and social justice movements and continues to work as a teamster for UPS. Hawkins joined us this past June just after the labor-friendly Working Families Party endorsed Governor Cuomo.
We discuss the idea of market saturation in the casino gambling industry with Professor Richard McGowan, SJ, of the Carroll School of Management and the Department of Economics at Boston College.◄ Back to PodCasts
