One of New York’s presents this year was a bank settlement windfall of over 5 billion dollars–and, no surprise, everyone wants to play with it. In November, we heard from the Citizens Budget Commission’s Elizabeth Lynam and the Fiscal Policy Institute’s Fred Floss about some ideas on how to spend the money.
That same day, we also spoke with Tim Hoefer of the Empire Center about pension double-dipping and a report card on municipalities websites’ effectiveness.
We’ll hear what Assemblymember Deborah Glick’s environmental priorities are for the coming year. And finally, raising the tipped minimum wage might be a big ticket item in the coming session.
