The big winners of the Upstate Revitalization Initiative are the Souther Tier, the Finger Lakes, and Central New York. Rob Simpson, President of CenterState CEO, explained what pushed the Central New York proposal over the edge to win the $500 million in state funds for economic development.
A major sea change is coming to New York’s education system. A new federal law struck down a previous provision that teacher evaluations have to be tied to student performance on state tests, while the Common Core Task Force has proposed an overhaul of the state’s education standards and testing system.
