Dec. 12, 2013: Gov. Cuomo, Ken Adams, NYSARC, REDC, UTVs
December 12, 2013
Empire State Development President & CEO and Commissioner of the New York State Department of Economic Development Ken Adams discusses Wednesday’s Regional Economic Development Council event. Plus we will put a face on one of the grantees: Peter Guidarelli of Warren, Washington & Albany Counties ARC discusses the $100K grant WWARC was awarded for its “Community Kitchen Project”.
Governor Andrew Cuomo joins us to discuss the REDC event as well as Tuesday’s release of the Pataki/McCall tax commission report.
We caught up lawmakers after the awards to get their take, including Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Senator Betty Little and Assemblyman Peter Lopez.
Manufacturers are lobbying for a line in the Governor’s budget plan that would produce cash for the state by allowing mega-sized UTV’s — four-passenger, knobby-tired, utility vehicles — to be registered as ATVs and use the same trails and backcountry dirt roads. John Sheehan of the Adirondack Council and Bill Cooke of Citizens Campaign for the Environment don’t like it and tell us why.◄ Back to PodCasts
