Dec. 19, 2013: Lincoln Elementary, Donn Rowe, Comptroller DiNapoli, Jim Tallon
December 19, 2013
Mr. Rakus and his students from Lincoln Elementary School in Schenectady, one of the poorest in the state, drop by to discuss their 2014 educational wish list.
Donn Rowe of the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association wants to sit down with the Governor and his staff and explain why blanket prison closures not only don’t work, but are dangerous for corrections officers.
There are plenty of surprises in NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s new report on compensation & overtime at public authorities, but nothing surprised me as much as this: Employees get bonuses. 4-percent of the 7-billion dollars paid out to public authorities employees goes to bonuses and “extra pay”. The Comptroller explains the report and shares his suggestions.
Jim Tallon worked on the NYS Board of Regents state aid recommendations. He joins us to discuss the proposal.◄ Back to PodCasts
