AQE’s Executive Director Billy Easton and Fordham Law Professor Zephyr Teachout are part of a coalition calling on the state to invest more in the traditional public education system rather than in charter schools.

Taking the opposite view, the group Families for Excellent Schools says that New York’s public schools have seen widespread failure and need to be reformed. Executive Director Jeremiah Kittredge explains.

Carol Burris is a strong player in New York’s education system. She is the principal of South Side High School in Rockville CSD. A former teacher, Burris was named the 2010 Educator of the Year by the School Administrators Association of NYS; and was also the 2013 SAANY New York State High School Principal of the Year.
