Dec. 7, 2015: Nature Conservancy, Michael Carey, George Canon, Personal Needs Allowance

A new survey shows a majority of New Yorkers support increasing funding for land conservation. Stuart Gruskin, Chief Conservation and External Affairs Officer at the Nature Conservancy of New York, will discuss the results.

Michael Carey, an advocate for the developmentally disabled, argues that as the governor sends extra security to Planned Parenthood facilities, he should not neglect the protection of the vulnerable in state care.

George Canon, Supervisor of the Town of Newcomb, and Frederick Monroe, executive director of the Adirondack Local Government Review Board, will explain the debate over land designation for the Boreas Pond tract, which will soon be under state control.

We will hear the case for increasing a Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) for long-term care residents from Susan Schafer and Tom Talbot, NYS Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program volunteers.
