Over the last few months we have introduced you to New York’s REV plan, which is a major restructuring of the state’s system of managing energy. REV stands for Reforming the Energy Vision. Today we meet Keith Schue, an electrical engineer who lives in Cherry Valley and is a technical adviser for Otsego 2000, an environmental conservation organization based in Cooperstown. Schue argues that unless REV tackles the elephant in the room–the massive growth of fracked gas power–it won’t alter the trend of continued and increased dependency on fossil fuels.
Then a conversation about a different kind of power. We meet author and activist Steve Phillips, the author of Brown is the New White: How the Demographic Revolution Has Created a New American Majority.
