Feb. 22, 2016: Asw. Pat Fahy, Tom Stebbins, Will Yandik, Michael Fragin

This week, the Assembly will host a hearing on what the state can do with the old, broken and outdated electronic equipment with which we are quickly filling landfills. Our e-waste, which has spiked in quantity, has a mix of valuable metals, like copper and gold, as well toxic chemicals that pose a threat to safety and the environment. Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy (D – Albany) joins Susan to preview the hearing.

Tom Stebbins, the executive director of the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York, argues the state’s restrictive Scaffold Law drives up the cost of infrastructure projects, which in turn makes it more difficult for municipalities and the state to rebuild the crumbling roads and bridges.

We will meet Will Yandik, a Democratic candidate in New York’s 19th Congressional District.

Michael Fragin, a spokesman for the Bloomingburg Jewish Community, explains the latest development in a voting rights challenge by Hasidic Jews in Sullivan County.
