Feb. 27, 2017: Hoosick Falls update

The Village Board of Hoosick Falls may hold a vote tonight on whether to accept a $1.04 million settlement with Saint-Gobain and Honeywell, the two companies responsible for pollution of the community’s drinking water. Many are concerned about the settlement because half of the $1.04 million dollars would pay for legal fees, a public relations firm, and an engineering firm. And according to Judith Enck, former Region 2 EPA Administrator and attorney David Engel of Healthy Hoosick Water, our 2 guests today, the remaining sum isn’t enough to pay for any future problems that may arise.
