Financial downturn exacerbates medical debt burden

Nov. 13, 2020 – Emergency government relief measures during the pandemic have done little to alleviate the medical debt burden accrued by New Yorkers, some of whom have seen their income diminished since March. Activists hope state lawmakers and Gov. Andrew Cuomo will take action to overhaul the system.
