Jan. 21, 2016: Asm. Morelle, Asw. Patricia Fahy, Rick Timbs, Citizens United anniversary

Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Morelle (D – Rochester) will weigh in on upstate infrastructure parity and the fight over legalizing MMA in New York.

We’ll speak with Asw. Patricia Fahy (D – Albany) about state funding for indigent legal services.

Rick Timbs, executive director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium, analyzes deficiencies, quirks and anomalies in the state aid funding formula for education.

On the anniversary of Citizens United, The New York for Democracy Coalition is advocating for a Constitutional Amendment declaring that corporations are not people, which would overturn Citizens United and related cases. Sen. Liz Krueger (D – Manhattan) and Anthony Cresswell, an organizer with the coalition, make the case for the amendment.
