Jan. 25, 2016: Sen. Carlucci, Vin Bonventre, E. J. McMahon

One of the antidotes for a heroin overdose is naloxone. IDC Sen. David Carlucci (D – Ossining) will discuss his legislation that would allow naloxone to become available OTC; the effort is among several to address the heroin crisis in New York.

Vin Bonventre, an Albany Law professor and author of New York Court Watcher blog, explains the impact the Freidrichs v. California Supreme Court case–in which petitioners are challenging mandatory fees charged by the state’s teachers union–could have on unions around the country.

E. J. McMahon, president and founder of the Empire Center for Public Policy, breaks down several proposals in the Governor’s budget that the center argues will hurt job growth in the state.
