The 2017 Legislative Session begins today. Susan hosted Sen. Michael Gianaris (D – Queens), the Deputy Senate Democratic Conference Leader, on progressive priorities for the year.
Today, young New Yorkers are holding a sit-in in Gov. Cuomo’s office urging him to stand up for climate change in New York as Donald Trump prepares to take office.
To the disappointment of advocates and several elected officials, the Governor vetoed the Justice Equality Act, which would provide funding for indigent legal defense services. We had reaction from Jonathan Gradess,the executive director of the New York State Defenders Association, Robert Linville, the Chief Defender of Columbia County, and Dan McCoy, the Albany County Executive.
