47 states and the District of Columbia recognize Juneteenth, a commemoration of the emancipation of slaves in the United States. Legislation from Asm. Alicia Hyndman (D-Queens) would make Juneteenth, a public holiday in New York. We talked with the Assemblymember about the bill when she joined the program.
