March 21, 2018: Finger Lakes Incinerator

According to the Rochester Business Journal, tourism is a 3 billion dollar industry in the Finger Lakes region which employs over 59,000 people. Now, a Rochester company, Circular EnerG, is working to build a 365 million dollar Waste to Energy plant in the small Seneca County town of Romulus. David Locke, owner of Locke’s Glen on the Lake and member of the Seneca Lake Guardian, and Will Ouweleen, vintner at O-Neh-da and Eagle Crest Vineyards and founding member of the Finger Lakes Wine Business Coalition, explained their objections and the effects this will have on their businesses.
