There are two competing bills in the Legislature that would require police departments to tape record interrogations. One is the Governor’s bill; the other is the Assembly’s. Last week we spoke with the Innocence Project about both bills, but not all criminal justice reform advocates are giving the governor’s bill a thumbs up. Today we heard from Al O’Connor, a litigation counsel with the New York State Defenders Association.
