Billy Easton, the executive director of the Alliance for Quality Education, argues the state is not fulfilling its expenditure plan for failing schools under threat of receivership.
A crucial part of the state’s urban revitalization is the cleanup of contaminated industrial sites called brownfields. A new report documents of the success of New York’s landmark Brownfield Opportunity Areas (BOA) program in driving redevelopment. We will speak with Val Washington, the president of New Partners for Community Revitalization (NCPR), Jeff Jones, a consultant for NCPR, about BOA’s success.
Albany was awarded the honor of hosting a diplomacy summit on June 1 titled, “Diplomacy Begins Here: A Women’s Empowerment Diplomacy Summit.” Speakers include U.S. Department of State Officials, Lt. Gov. Hochul and Rep. Paul Tonko among many other notable speakers. Susan, who is a featured panelist at the event, will speak with Diane Conroy-LaCivita, the executive director of the International Center of the Capital Region, about the goals of the summit.
