Blindness

Currently, there are 10 million people who are blind or visually impaired in the United States. Approximately 1.3 million people are legally blind including 55,000 children. Varying degrees of visual impairment exist for over 90,000 children and 5.5 million elderly. Often, diseases or conditions are progressive and with increasing impairments as people age.
