Starting July 17: New detective series puts a unique spin on crime-solving genre
July 16, 2014
Mystery lovers will have a new program to add to their Thursday evening lineup with the hit new detective series “Father Brown.” The program, based on the short stories of G.K. Chesterton, airs Thursdays on WCNY, premiering at 10 p.m. July 17.
After years of hearing and helping his parishioners’ confessions, Father Brown has an uncanny insight into the origins of evil and the workings of a criminal mind. But the Father Brown character is more concerned with saving souls than bringing the guilty to justice. Compassion gives him a window into the hearts of people on both sides of the law, while his playful wit and razor-sharp mind catches thieves and murderers off guard.
