In light of the ongoing corruption trials of former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, as well as other recent legislative convictions, government watchdog groups are calling for an overhaul of the state’s ethics system. Today we heard from Barbara Bartoletti, legislative director of the League of Women voters of NYS, and John Kaehny, the executive director of Reinvent Albany, about the proposals they want enacted.
We took an in-depth look at the collapse of the NYS health co-op Health Republic with Thomas H. Dennison, PhD, the Director of the Health Services Management and Policy Program at the Maxwell School, Syracuse University.
