Oct. 14, 2015: Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan, Michael Borges, Compassion & Choices, Larry Levy

Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan (R – Smithtown) joins Susan for a conversation about education, parity for upstate infrastructure in light of the MTA Capital Plan, and his upstate travels over the past few months.

We look at a legislative report card released by the New York State Association of School Business Officials (NYSASBO) with the group’s executive director Michael Borges.

In California, “aid in dying” is now on the books and advocates are turning their attention to New York. This morning we welcome Corinne Carey, Compassion & Choices’ New York State campaign director, to explain the push to legalize “aid in dying” for mentally competent, terminally ill patients in the Empire State.

Finally, Hofstra University’s Executive Dean at the National Center for Suburban Studies Larry Levy analyzes last night’s Democratic presidential candidate debate. He’ll explain whether appealing to a left-leaning constituency can cause problems with moderate suburban voters.
