After he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2014, J.J. Hanson, the President of Patients Rights Action Fund and a former aide to Govs. Spitzer and Paterson, became an advocate against aid-in-dying/physician-assisted suicide. He is leading a fight against legislation that would legalize the practice in New York State.
