This week, Gov. Cuomo signed eight laws that enhance equal rights for women, including equal pay measures and pregnancy discrimination prohibitions, into law. NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman analyzes the new equality laws and explains what she still sees is lacking in the fight for women’s rights.

Sen. Neil Breslin (D – Albany) analyzes the legislative pros and cons of expanding ride-sharing services, like Lyft and Uber, to Upstate New York.

New York “AM 970 The Answer” will launch “Effective Radio with Bill Samuels” this Sunday, October 25th. Bill Samuels, who joins us today, is the founder of EffectiveNY and a reform leader advocating for more transparency and accountability in government.

We hear a parent’s perspective on the state’s receivership process with Ivette Alfonso, a parent in the Albany CSD who testified at last week’s education hearing.
