Part of the PBS Summer of Adventure June 27 6-8 p.m. Hosted by: View, the multi-arts center in Old Forge 3273 NY-28 Old Forge, NY 13420 The three-part “Kingdoms of the Sky” takes viewers on a tour of three of the planet’s most impressive mountain ranges – the Rockies, Himalayas, and Andes – showcasing the mountains themselves and the extraordinary people and animals that live on these peaks. The panel discussion that follows focuses on New York’s own Adirondack Mountains and how they have been protected in the past and plans for the future. Featured speakers and experienced mountaineers from the Adirondack Council, the Adirondack Mountain Club, and The Wild Center. Light refreshments served.

WCNY, Central New York’s flagship public broadcaster in partnership with Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County, NY’s 529 College Savings Program, Destiny USA, and the Syracuse Chiefs present Summer Learning Day from noon to 2 p.m. in the Canyon area located at Destiny USA, 9090 Destiny USA Dr., Syracuse. The free annual event will feature a meet and greet with Daniel Tiger, from the popular PBS KIDS show “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” more than 20 craft and activity tables, and the first 500 children will receive a Daniel’s Day at the Beach book and goodie bag.

You're invited to tour WCNY’s Broadcast and Education Center!   See where public television and radio programs are made, learn about some of the energy-saving and environmentally-friendly aspects of the facility, marvel at the innovative ways WCNY uses technology, and visit the Education Center to explore the Enterprise America hands-on educational experience. Tours are free, approximately 45 minutes long, and are limited to about 25 people per tour.   Reserve your spot below, or call (315) 453-2424.
