September 10, 2015
Today, Susan Arbetter speaks with Politico New York reporter Bill Mahoney about primary races around the state. Find out where your polling place is here.
Next, we look at a proposal sponsored by Sen. John Bonacic (R -Middletown), the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Racing, Wagering and Gaming, to allow online poker companies to run their operations out of New York. First, we hear from Robb Smith, the executive director of the Interfaith Impact of NYS who argues the bill “has the potential to put a casino poker room into every home, every family, every dorm, and every place of employment in New York, with all the dysfunctions that go with compulsive Internet game play combined with gambling.” Then, we discuss the bill and yesterday’s hearing on the proposal with Sen. John Bonacic.
Finally, Sen. Brad Hoylman (D – Manhattan) explains legislation he is co-sponsoring with Assemblymember Deborah Glick (D -Manhattan) that aims to curb the gender wage gap.◄ Back to PodCasts
