Sept. 12, 2016: Minority Leader Brian Kolb, Ken Lovett, Adirondack Council, Alliance of Families for Justice
September 12, 2016
Assemblyman Bill Nojay (R – Pittsford) committed suicide on Friday morning near his family’s grave plot in Rochester, NY. We heard more about the tragedy from Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R – Canandaigua) and NY Daily News Albany Bureau Chief Ken Lovett.
We discussed the Adirondack Council’s State of the Park 2016 report with the Adirondack Council’s Director of Communications John Sheehan. The Adirondacks will soon have greater tracts of wilderness thanks to state purchases of private land.
Thursday, Sept. 15 is the official launch of the Alliance of Families for Justice, a new civil rights group focused on criminal justice reform, at the National Black Theatre in New York City. We spoke with the Alliance’s Founder and Executive Director Soffiyah Elijah and Cerissa Harrell, the sister of Samuel Harrell who was killed by guards at the Fishkill Correctional Facility in April 2015, about the mission of the new group.◄ Back to PodCasts
