Last week, the credit monitoring company Equifax announced that a breach in their security system put approximately 143 million Americans at risk of identity theft. In response, Governor Andrew Cuomo has granted new powers to the Department of Financial Services to keep companies like Equifax in check. Maria Vullo, Superintendent of Financial Services, joined Susan to break down the ways the State is responding and how New Yorkers can keep themselves safe.
