If you would like to make a vehicle donation, you may call 877-308-2408 or donate your vehicle online. WCNY accepts most vehicles including cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, motorcycles and recreational vehicles.
Within 2-4 days of your phone call, a tow company will contact you to pick-up your vehicle, keys and a signed title. You will be given instructions on how to sign-over your title. You vehicle will then be sold by an auto auction.
You will receive an acknowledgment along with required IRS documents. The IRS allows you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax form equal to the amount the vehicle sells for at auction unless it sells for less than $500. If your vehicle sells for less than $500 you may deduct no more than $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, we will need to get additional information from you so that we can send you the IRS form 1098C. We recommend you consult your tax advisor with questions about your deduction.
