Unemployment can place especially difficult new stresses on displaced workers and their families. Dealing with unexpected financial pressures and uncertainty about the future is a tremendous burden. Fortunately, a wide variety of supports are available to help during this difficult period.
Many of the services listed in this brochure are funded by United Way with dollars contributed by people across our community. Others are funded by tax dollars for the community’s well-being.

Out of all the job searches I’ve done, I thought I was really flexible, I thought I had done a lot of research. I think what I learned out of it the most, is there is so much more I can do, than what I have done. I can be encouraged by that as well.
Yes something very good from the standpoint of seeing other people who are experiencing some of the same challenges I am facing as well as people who give me knowledge and insight on things that I can do and modify my behavior to look for employment. It is a tough market out there, but when I look at what people are doing and the experience brought to this round table that can enlighten me and give me advice that I can take to heart and use to make myself better. I think if we all look at that and make ourselves better, things will move along and the economy will get better eventually and we will all take advantage of that.
Being around knowledgeable people who can inform and educate you, but also being around people that are feeling the same pains you are. They are looking for work and thinking no ones listening, and you take somebody else who has been out of work longer and you think I am not as bad as what I think I am. But, I have to change some of my ideas and focus and you take heart about what people are saying about looking at your resume, how can I change and modify it? Maybe do something different, the career I’ve been in, maybe there’s something else I can do at this point in time with just as much interest and just as much reward.
