WCNY presents ‘Movie and a Cookie’ in Rome

WCNY’s popular “Movie and a Cookie’’ presents “Madagascar” at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Rome Capitol Theatre, 220 W. Dominick St., Rome.

The family-friendly “Movie and a Cookie” features a favorite children’s movie, free cookies, a special visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog and activities for children. The doors open at 1:30 p.m.; the show starts at 2 p.m.

In “Madagascar,” Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple and, of course, King Julien, Maurice and the Penguins are all along for the comedic adventure. Their journey takes them through Europe, where they find the perfect cover – a traveling circus, which they reinvent Madagascar style. Cookies for “Madagascar” are provided by Cafe Caruso in Utica.

Tickets for “Movie and a Cookie” are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 14, and children under the age of 5 are free. To purchase tickets, visit www.wcny.org/events or call (315) 453-2424. Tickets will be available for purchase up until the day before the screening. Tickets also can be purchased at each venue.
