May 29, 2025
The first collaborative school of its kind in Central New York is on the horizon.
The city of Syracuse, the Syracuse City School District (SCSD), Onondaga County, and schools from Onondaga, Cortland, and Madison Counties are coming together to establish the region’s first STEAM-focused high school. This high school will provide a rigorous academic curriculum emphasizing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). It will be open to students from both the SCSD and the surrounding school districts.
On this episode of Innovate to Educate, host Jody Manning is joined by SCSD Superintendent Anthony Q. Davis, and former SCSD School Board Member Steve Swift to discuss the STEAM School as it gets ready to open its doors to students in the Fall of 2025.
