Drafting error holds up clean slates for more than 2 million New Yorkers

June 30, 2021 – In the waning days of the legislative session, the Democratic majorities in the state Legislature appeared to have struck a deal on a bill that would seal the criminal records for more than 2 million New Yorkers – until there was no deal.
