Innovate to Educate, Episode 11 – Visual Storytelling Summer Camp

This edition of Innovate to Educate highlights another unique educational program that took place this summer right here at WCNY’s Robert J Daino Broadcast and Education Center. The first-ever Visual Storytelling Summer Camp was a fantastic hands-on program for middle-school students in the Syracuse City School District. The three-week program was the brainchild of SUNY-Oswego Professor Francisco Suarez. Over three weeks, students learned the principles of storytelling, character development, storyline, plot and resolution; along with visual storytelling techniques like video recording, audio recording, and video editing. In this show, host Jody Manning speaks with Camp Coordinator Dylan Suttles and participants Alex Lilly and Tahje Brown, both students at the Syracuse Latin School.
