Strathmore Speaker Series – Dakota Matthews on Reviving the American Chestnut Tree

This session of the Strathmore Speaker Series features Dakota Matthews, Molecular Lab Manager of SUNY ESF’s American Chestnut Research and Restoration Project. In this talk from October 2022, he discussed the work carried out by his group to develop a blight-tolerant American chestnut tree and restore this iconic and valuable cultural symbol to the forest ecosystems of the eastern United States. The talk is facilitated by Scott Lipkowitz, Digital Services & Technology Librarian at Onondaga Free Library.” Community FM is pleased to partner with the Strathmore Speaker Series. For the past 10 years, the SSS has provided more than 50 free talks to the Central New York community. Its mission is to present experts from a broad variety of fields to share their knowledge to inform and inspire.
