WCNY announces new staff appointments

WCNY, Central New York’s public broadcaster is pleased to announce the following staff appointments:

Joyl Clance, senior director, Premier Events, A Division of WCNY. Clance was previously director of BizEventz, a division of the Business Journal News Network, leading event productions, marketing, sponsor campaigns, sales and operations, for six years. Clance brings more than 17 years of event production experience, community engagement, sales, marketing, and fundraising to WCNY.

Michael Harriff, vice president & chief technology officer. Harriff was previously the co-founder and Technical Partner at Armory5 in Syracuse. He brings 22 years of experience in the information technology, data management, network security, and digital imaging fields to WCNY.

Joshua Waldby, producer. Waldby previously freelanced through his video production business, Arvest Pictures. Waldby has a film degree from Columbia College Chicago and brings experience in cinematography, non-profit social work in several local humanitarian organizations and mission-based story telling techniques to WCNY.

Shane Johnson, producer. Johnson previously worked as an associate producer at WSKG Public Media in Binghamton where he produced, shot, and edited documentaries, digital content, and local programing. He has focused much of his storytelling on local history. Prior to WSKG, Johnson owned his own production company where he shot and edited marketing, promotional, and event videos.
